As Animation Director you’ll lead the growth of our animation team, contributing to multiple AAA projects simultaneously, delivering on quality and pushing the boundaries of gameplay and cinematic animation.

Responsibilities:

• Conceptualise and design animation for a variety of co-development projects requiring animation support.
• Be the creative vision for animation, working closely with the game’s designers and artists to ensure that the animation fits seamlessly with the game’s overall aesthetic and gameplay.
• Oversee the growth and development of the animation team and ensure that they have sufficient resources required to produce quality work effectively.
• Establish and maintain quality standards for animation, ensuring that it meets the expectations set and showcases the quality of work Wushu Studios is known for.
• Consult with design, art, and engineering teams to solve any problems that arise during the animation process.
• Partner with technical teams to establish pipelines and workflows + select tools to achieve aesthetic quality and technical functionality.
• Review the implementation of animations in engine with a focus on quality.

• Possess a deep understanding of animation principles, as well as a strong artistic sense to be able to direct the creation of visually appealing and compelling animations.
• A strong understanding of basic human kinetics and real-world physics.
• Demonstrate an ability to lead and develop an animation team effectively.
• Familiarity with Motion Capture and other various animation software/tools such as Motion builder, Maya, 3DS Max etc.
• Strong knowledge of procedural animation principles and techniques.
• Ability to produce high-quality animations in different game engines, experience in UE5 is desirable.
• Extensive knowledge of the video game development process and production pipelines.
• Strong focus on professional development and ability to mentor individuals to develop their skills and knowledge.
