Description of the offer

The Front-End Software Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing user-facing features and visual elements in various web applications used by both internal and external customers.

The Front-End Software Engineer plays a crucial role in the success of our business by building secure, testable, well-documented, reusable code, maintaining brand standards, optimizing page load times, and using a variety of markup languages to deliver a clean, responsive user experience. The qualified candidate will possess a continuous learning mindset, be self-motivated, be able to work autonomously, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

This position also may require occasional after-hours support.

This position will report to the Director, Software Engineering and is based in our Las Vegas, NV headquarters. Strong remote candidates will also be considered; occasional travel to Las Vegas may be required.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to discuss the needs, design, and functionality of web applications, controls, or interfaces.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers, product managers, and back-end engineers.
• Use a variety of programming languages to create user-friendly web application pages and features, striking a balance between functional and aesthetic design.
• Build secure, reusable code, optimize design for maximum speed and scalability, and maintain brand and functional consistency throughout the application.
• Deliver innovative, high-quality, testable, well-documented code.
• Perform code review and share knowledge with other technical staff.
• Perform technical analysis and estimation of webapplication business requirements.
• Solve problems both individually and through close collaboration within the engineering team.
• Provide level two production support for assigned technology systems.
• Participate in the Agile development process by contributing to daily standups, release planning, demos, and retrospectives.
• Document solutions to maintain technology knowledge repository.
• Perform other duties or tasks as assigned.

 

Requirements:

• 3+ years of Front-End web application development experience.
• Excellent knowledge of browser troubleshooting and debugging practices and techniques.
• Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, jQuery, and with Angular and React/Redux frameworks.
• Experience with responsive and adaptive design.
• Experience working with UI/UX prototypes and tools such as Figma.
• Knowledge of the Agile software development life cycle and concepts of software engineering.
• Strong teaming skills, professional attitude, enthusiastic, collaborative, and approachable.
• Analytical, inquisitive, and innovative with excellent attention to detail.
• Creative problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

 

Pluses:

• Knowledgeable of Source Control and Project Management tools like Bitbucket, JIRA, and Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with DevOps best practices and automation of documentation, testing, build, deployment, configuration, and monitoring.
• Experience working with JSON objects, RESTful APIs, and API tools such as Postman and Swagger.
• Experience with Front End testing libraries such as Jest, or JUnit.
• Azure PaaS experience.
