Description of the offer

The Web Design Analyst will work as part of our Orchid POS, Orchid eCommerce and B2B Portal team.

The analyst will develop custom websites and eCommerce portals for our retail / range, distribution, manufacturing clients in the firearms and shooting sports industry.

• Base Salary: Depends on Experience
• Title: Web Design Analyst
• Reports to: Director of Web Development
• Bonus Structure: Incentive compensation eligible
• Location: Remote – work from home
• Paid Time Off (PTO) – Three weeks of PTO plus holidays
• Other: Company computer provided and up to $30 / mo phone service expense

Job Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to understand their firearm industry business model
• Determine client website design needs including site page portfolio, layout, branding, color schemes, imagery, and special features and functions.
• Understand client needs for SEO optimization, newsletter campaigns and social media
• Create professional web designs based on these requirements and work with the client to finalize their prototype
• Create or source relevant images to the shooting sports, law enforcement, firearms, ammunition, ranges, etc.
• Submit site designs to the software development team for build
• Assist clients with the migration of site imagery, product data, and content
• Review post-build sites for quality and functional issues
• Present the finalized site to the client for final review
• Train clients on the ongoing use of their website, Content Management Portal and integration with Orchid POS or other platform

 

Web Designer Qualifications/Skills

• Proven understanding of graphic design fundamentals
• Demonstrated ability to take a project from concept to launch
• Strong command of color theory, image composition, and typography
• Excellent time-management skills
• Ability to deliver production-ready digital assets in a wide variety of formats
• Awareness of UI/UX principles
• Familiarity with digital photo editing
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Comfort working in a deadline-driven environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy

 

Education and Experience Requirements

• Prior experience in the firearms industry desired but not required. At a minimum, must be a firearm enthusiast and familiar with the industry and its products
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field
• Three to five years of professional design experience
• Portfolio of strong creative work
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
• Experience with HTML and CSS
• Experience with Figma
