What’s Bench?
Visit Bench’s latest news to see what’s happening, and read what our customers have to say.  You can also check us out in Medium, on our LinkedIn page, our Instagram, and our Life at Bench Blog.

We acknowledge that Bench is founded on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

Our mission is to help every business owner thrive, by providing financial insight and peace of mind in one seamless platform. From creatives to chiropractors, Bench helps thousands of small business owners and entrepreneurs master their financial lives. Because understanding your finances should be three things: simple, effortless, and affordable.

We’re growing fast, and we’re looking for exceptional people to join us on this incredible journey.

What does the Marketing team look like?

The Marketing Team at Bench is a small and mighty group of experienced folks leading diverse parts of our growth initiatives – ranging from acquisition all the way through to retention and expansion.

We have subject matter experts across a variety of domains, including SEO and Content, to Paid, CRO, Lifecycle, and Product Marketing. The team is highly collaborative and action-oriented, elevating each other and our collective work every single day.

As a team, our ultimate goal is to deliver poignant stories and captivating experiences to small business owners to help fuel their success.

What’s the role of a Growth Marketing Manager?

As a Growth Marketing Manager at Bench Accounting, you’ll be reporting directly to the Head of Marketing, with a primary focus on driving results through paid channels.

You’ll possess specific subject matter expertise and demonstrated experience in running digital paid marketing campaigns, mainly across search and social.

As a well-rounded marketing generalist, you will also have the opportunity to impact other channels, such as our website and email programs. In this role, you’ll be the essential bridge between our performance marketing agency that runs our campaigns, and our internal business strategy.

Your work will be highly cross-functional in nature: teams like Sales, Business Operations and Marketing will rely on you to define cohesive strategies that are executed flawlessly and optimized regularly based on ongoing performance and learnings.

What you’ll get up to:

  • You’ll work directly with the performance marketing agency to manage and optimize campaigns to maximize impact, and align them with Bench’s growth objectives.
  • You’ll measure and report on the performance of paid campaigns, and make strategic recommendations and decisions to enhance results and hit targets across channels. You’ll also present results and recommendations directly to Senior Management.
  • Guide and facilitate the creative process to ensure there’s a constant stream of relevant, high-performing creative. This includes working directly with customers and influencers to develop new UGC ad creative that’s aligned with our brand’s positioning, voice, and goals. You’ll also work closely with our internal design team on ad creative.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in evaluating mid-campaign and post-campaign performance, making data-driven recommendations based on results and industry trends.
  • Forecast paid targets in partnership with the performance marketing agency, finance, sales and marketing leadership.
  • Plan and manage projects from start to finish, including budgeting, processes, resources, and timelines.
  • Collaborate closely with the Conversion Rate Op and Experimentation team to run tests and optimize campaigns and landing pages.
  • Build deep relationships and meet regularly with the sales team to keep a constant pulse on frontline feedback, using insights to improve campaign performance.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have:

  • 5-7 years of experience as a Growth Marketing Manager, Digital Marketing Manager, Performance Marketing Manager or equivalent role, working in-house for a brand. Experience in SaaS is a plus.
  • Proven subject matter expertise managing paid media campaigns across platforms like Google, Meta, and TikTok.
  • You’ll be a self-starter that thinks ahead: you’ll identify what needs to be done before others ask and you’ll know how to prioritize your work in real time.
  • A high level of expertise with tools like: Google Ads, Meta Ads, Salesforce, Tableau, Heap
  • Experience working directly with marketing agencies as a trusted, collaborative and delightful partner to work with.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present to and work directly with senior leadership.
  • A resourceful and fearless approach to your work. You default to action and are unafraid to take risks in the spirit of driving results and change.
  • Marketing experience beyond paid media, including direct experience or deep exposure to areas such as inbound/organic marketing, product marketing, and/or lifecycle marketing
  • A curious mind that’s motivated by digging into data, troubleshooting, and optimizing the customer journey from prospecting to sale.

It could be an even better fit if you have:

  • Experience using Webflow
  • Experience in SaaS and/or Fintech
  • Google and Meta certifications
  • Experience running ads across platforms like Reddit, Quora, Bing, LinkedIn
  • Understanding of SEO and content best practices

What you’ll get:

  • At Bench we share information freely and openly whenever possible. The salary range for this role is $88,640-$105,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • In addition, we offer an extended benefits package that includes paid vacation, paid flex days, stock option, and full health, dental, and vision.
  • You’ll get access to  Inkblot Therapy’s  Employee and Family Assistance Program (EAP) that offers counseling and support, for you and family members, as well as professional development coaching, financial advice, legal advice and much more.
  • Bench has a number of Affinity Groups – groups of people who have shared identities and experiences! The purpose of these groups is to support underrepresented Benchmates and amplify their voices.
  • If you live in BC’s Lower Mainland, you have the opportunity to work at home or in our downtown office location, depending on your preference! If you’re interested in remote only, we currently focus our hiring efforts in the following provinces: British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.
  • We provide solutions to bring all teams together for collaboration and connection.
  • Regardless of how many days you decide to visit the office, you’ll have access to our Home Office Setup Fund to ensure that you have everything you need to work comfortably from home, from day one.
  • You’ll have the opportunity to work from somewhere other than your home province for up to 90 days in a 12-month period.

Everyone has their own unique talents. Even if you don’t meet 100% of the qualifications outlined above, tell us why you’d be a great fit for this role in your application.

We believe that unchecked biases disproportionately impact the most marginalized people in society—including but not limited to BIPOC, LGBTQ2S+ people, immigrants, and people with disabilities. We strongly encourage applications from people with these identities or other marginalized communities because we believe that without you, we are all less.  If you are selected for an interview and require support during the process, including disability accommodation, we’ll give you the opportunity to tell us when we contact you.
