Product Designer

product designer

Goody is hiring a Product Designer with an excellent visual eye and is motivated by building delightful products.

Remote (US & Canada only)

Salary range: $120K – $160K + stock

Goody is a gifting platform that makes personal and professional gifting easy — you don’t need an address, and you don’t need to worry if your recipient prefers something else, since they can swap their gift. We also offer an API to plug in gifting and commerce to any app.

We help people celebrate milestones, recognize achievements, close deals, and make clients feel valued through thoughtful gifts that make people’s days. Founded 5 years ago, our product is used by Google, Stripe, Meta, Anthropic, Notion, NBCUniversal, DHL, and others.

Despite being something everyone does, gifting is one of the areas of commerce yet to be disrupted, and our mission is to capture that market opportunity and spread joy and positivity.

And with Goody being co-founded by a designer, we view design as absolutely central to our mission.

For designers who love to craft experiences: You’ll be working on a product where the goal is delight.

  • Gifting is meant to be experiential. We have a lot of fun crafting the experience to be fun, and we consider how each screen impacts the emotional experience, such as our gift unwrap experience which has a neat (and customizable) animation designed to immerse the recipient.
  • We worked with XYZ Type to tailor our own typeface (this one!) when we couldn’t find one off the shelf that conveyed our vibe.
  • And we have big ambitions for how to make the experience even better and more fun (for which we could use your ideas and taste!)

For designers who love ownership and impact: You’ll have deep ownership over projects that impact the success of our company.

  • You’d work directly with me (Mark), the co-founder, CTO, and Head of Product, to build our key projects, and we’ll bounce ideas between and challenge each other, which will ultimately lead to the best work.
  • And as you might expect in a tight-knit startup, you’ll be responsible for full features and will heavily impact our users’ experience of our product, and ultimately the success of the company.

For designers with business sense: You’ll have an opportunity to design the product that wins this market.

  • Gifting is one of the areas of commerce yet to be revolutionized. We are in an excellent position to win this market, in part because Goody is the design leader in the gifting space, offering the best UI/UX for business gifting.
  • History has shown that companies with the best design and taste tend to win, if coupled with good execution.

If you related with all three of these, that’s a good sign. We are looking for a designer with the combination of deep sense of craft and obsessiveness over quality, who thrive with ownership and responsibility, and who have excellent business sense.

What you’ll do

  • Design user interfaces and experiences for Goody’s responsive web application, including the sender experience (ecommerce and SaaS) and recipient gift experience
  • Since product and design are inextricably interlinked, collaborate with product to evolve product direction based on findings in the design process
  • Understand user needs through feedback, testing, research, and gathering information from users and stakeholders
  • Evolve Goody’s design language to changing needs and new feature development
  • Explore ways to integrate AI/ML in non-BS, actually useful ways

Who you are

  • 3+ years of experience in product design, with a portfolio showcasing fresh, creative work for web and mobile
  • Top 5% visual talent, with both a good eye and the skills to execute
  • Experienced in the main gameplay loop of design, namely exploring the option space and iterating until something hits. You should be used to doing that and creating new avenues to explore and iterate, to ultimately arrive at the most harmonious design
  • Growth mindset and an ability to take constructive feedback and thrive in a no-ego culture
  • Familiarity with ecommerce is a plus

What we offer

  • Fully remote company with opportunities to meet in person, such as regional meetups and our annual company offsite. This position is open to individuals in the US or Canada.
  • Base salary range of $120K–160K USD plus stock options
  • We offer benefits and perks to our employees including but not limited to: comprehensive medical plans, including vision and dental, flexible PTO, paid family leave, education and wellness stipends, and (of course!) lots of gifts.

Design Director

Design Director

Work & Co, part of Accenture Song, is a global design and technology company with offices in the United States, Europe, and Latin America. We’re known for uniting the industry’s best hands-on strategy, product and technical talent to generate tangible impact at scale. Client partners include IKEA, Apple, PGA TOUR, Gatorade, Google, Mercedes, Givenchy, the MTA and more. As Fast Company noted, our engineering and design teams are routinely entrusted with creating digital products for companies which rarely approach outside firms. Forrester Research calls our approach “a model to follow.”

We look for Design Directors who see no boundaries between form and function, and who think the feel of a product should come more from how it works than how it looks. We believe designers are basically strategists who express strategy through design.

Creating digital products is a team game. Our methodology emphasizes intense collaboration, early prototyping and testing, and so many iterations you’ll lose count. Design Directors work closely with Product Managers, Strategists, and Developers to create digital products and services that reshape industries while mentoring others in the Work & Co Design team. Our Partners are hands on and you’ll work directly with them — no middle management here.

What You Will Do

  • Stay 100% focused on making great digital products–that’s all we care about.
  • Work iteratively on initial concepts, prototypes, and detailed designs informed by user research, marketplace and behavior trends, and your best ideas.
  • Participate in a hands-on manner through all product phases, from strategy to launch to optimization (this job is not just about making wireframes or participating in one phase).

We Are Looking For

  • Proven ability to propose creative concepts during initial project phases and the ability to deliver on those ideas and the ideas of others through detailed design.
  • Proven ability to solve complex UX problems and the product strategy skills to deliver best-in-class visual design solutions
  • Ability to uncover and utilize business truths and user behaviors that help define a great product
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize and present your work
  • Experience working in a highly iterative, collaborative environment where people share work daily
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Familiarity with prototyping tools

The base pay for the Design Director role is between $175,000 and $225,000. The actual annual salary is dependent upon many factors, such as: experience, knowledge, skills, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Along with competitive pay, full-time employees are eligible for full benefits.

At Work & Co, we believe diversity is essential to creating the best digital products. We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, ethnicity, citizenship, national origin of employees, religion, sexual orientation, age, marital status, disability, veteran status or any other legally protected status.
