Westco Communications is seeking a friendly and experienced Communications Manager to join our team to deliver a short-term project on a complex issue for one of our public sector clients.

As a Communications Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of an effective communication strategies for our clients across various platforms. Through the work you will be developing a consistent, clear narrative which you will deploy across multiple channels while developing strong stakeholder networks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive communication plans for clients, including media relations, content creation, social media, and event management.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to create impactful campaigns that promote client’s key messages, goals and objectives.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, managing daily communication with clients and ensuring satisfaction with services provided.
• Create and manage media lists, pitch and secure media placements, and prepare clients for media interviews.
• Oversee the development of written materials including press releases, speeches, talking points, and other content as needed.
• Provide strategic communication counsel to clients, including crisis management support.

• At least 5 years of experience in public relations, communications, or a related field.
• Proven ability to develop and implement successful communication strategies across various platforms.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate and build relationships at all levels.
• Strong project management and organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and under tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of digital marketing, social media and web analytics.
