Just About is a new community platform that unites fans and pays them fairly for creating the best content and conversation on the internet.

The company is led by Rupert Loman (previously founder of Gamer Network – the company behind Eurogamer, GamesIndustry.biz and EGX) and has recently secured backing from top investors to grow the team in the run up to launch.

The Opportunity

Just About is seeking to become the best place for passionate fans to get together to discuss, create, and share the things they love, while getting rewarded for their knowledge and contributions. We’re looking for a Community Manager to help us build, maintain, and engage with those thriving community spaces.

We want to find someone who’s aligned with our mission and believes that fans deserve a better alternative, and wants to be a part of creating that. In this role you’ll listen to our members and understand their needs and wants, engage with them and help foster discussions and interactions, while maintaining our values of pro-social behaviour, transparency, and fairness.

Reporting to the Community Content Lead, you will champion the needs of our members, working to make sure that they are reflected in how we take the platform forward, as well as actively listening to and consistently communicating with them.

You will

• Interact with members on Just About, responding to and prompting conversation, interaction, and content creation
• Work with our Community Content Lead to ensure that our members have engaging activities and discussions to take part in, and that their efforts are recognized and rewarded
• Help to identify, train, and onboard platform moderators
• Empower the platform’s communities to be vibrant, positive spaces that our members will want to spend time in
• Identify key community leaders, creators, and influencers, as we well as opportunities for launching new communities
• Help to align our on-platform activity with our marketing and social media efforts
• Act as an interface between the company and community members to ensure their satisfaction with the Just About platform
• Immerse yourself within our communities to understand the culture and experiences of Just About members
• Demonstrate and evangelise our core values of transparency, fairness and collaboration.

You have

• At least 1-2 years of community management experience, ideally but not essentially in gaming or a related field
• Strong firsthand knowledge of the needs and frustrations of online communities, and a desire to help build something better
• Excellent written communication skills, including writing and responding to discussions and threads
• Experience of platform moderation, and working with community moderators and leaders
• A proactive attitude, both with regard to interactions with our community members as well as within the company

Salary guidance: £35,000. Salary may be weighted depending on location & cost of living.
