 Role details: This is a full time role for 40 contracted hours per week

 Salary: £25,000 – £35,000 per annum (based on experience and track record)

 Location: We are a hybrid team, based throughout the UK. We offer the flexibility to work outside of the UK up to 90 days per year, however you must be able to work and live permanently within the UK, and travel to London every few months for team meeting sessions. #LI-Remote

 

The role

We are on the lookout for a talented individual with 1.5-3 years’ experience in writing copy and managing social media for B2B/B2C to join us as a full-time Content Marketing Associate.

In this broad position, you will play a key role in ensuring Isla maintains a captivating online voice and brand through strong copy and creative content that resonates with our target audience and drives engagement and brand awareness. Reporting to the Marketing Director, you will write compelling copy and execute social media content across a broad range of formats — from blogs, articles, interviews to email newsletters, press releases, client pitches, digital campaigns, and social media posts.

Our ideal candidate is a team-spirited, skilled and imaginative writer and content creator with an eye for detail and a penchant for turning mundane messages into captivating stories. You will be a master at taking complex material and presenting it in a clear, concise and engaging way that’s easy to understand. To be successful in this role, you should have excellent content writing skills, a passion for creativity, familiarity with social media management (especially LinkedIn), strong attention to detail, and tons of enthusiasm and appetite to learn and develop your skills in this role.

Over the next 12 months you will:

 

Copywriting (circa 60% of the role):

  • Conceptualise, write, edit and proofread compelling content copy across diverse formats
  • Edit and proofread content for accuracy, grammar, and style/punctuation, ensuring the highest quality of execution at all times
  • Develop a strong narrative that speaks to the target persona
  • Elevate the standard for writing copy that drives action and lead conversion
  • Research and understand target audiences and their needs and challenges
  • Collaborate with internal teams for idea generation, concept development, and messaging
  • Assist with business pitches, grant applications and other communication/PR projects
  • Research and target keywords, ensuring your copy is optimised for SEO

 

Social media management (circa 40% of the role): 

  • Manage Isla’s social media accounts, including writing, editing and publishing engaging posts for various social networks (with a focus on LinkedIn and Twitter)
  • Respond to questions and comments on our social media pages in a timely and accurate manner, build community, and track user engagement
  • Optimise social media posts (language, tone, message) based on our target audience’s behaviour and latest trends/industry best practice
  • Track and report on social media insights (traffic, engagement, shares, conversion rates) and suggest ways to optimise our social media efforts (formats/copy/trend tracking)

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
  • A proven track record in copywriting with the ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of editing and content planning, including long and short-form content
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to adapt your tone and style to different audiences and platforms
  • Solid understanding of the role of copy in content marketing, alongside the data and statistics behind it that demonstrate campaign/messaging success
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • A creative approach, both in coming up with ideas for new projects and for getting a message across innovatively
  • Understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices

 

Good to have: 

  • B2B marketing background (marketing or advertising agency or a fast-paced corporate environment)
  • Understanding of and working knowledge of HTML or WordPress, HubSpot, and SEO
  • Healthcare sector experience/knowledge
  • Previous start-up/scale up experience

What is the hiring process for this role at Isla?

Interviewing with us for the Content Marketing Associate role will be split into 4 stages (all conducted virtually):

1️⃣ A screening interview with our Director of Operations – 20 minutes

2️⃣ A one to one interview with our Director of Marketing – 30 minutes

3️⃣ An interview with some of the Marketing team that includes a practical task – 40 minutes

4️⃣ A final interview with one of our Co-founders – 30 minutes
