Through our paid advertising & strategic advising, we’ve bridged the gaping void in the industry that lacked a highly profitable digital lead vendor. Our constant innovative service allowed us to establish a prominent presence in this space and partner with over 55 large-scale home improvement companies across the USA & Canadian markets.
As we continue to evolve, our next step is to bring in a strategic leader for the Data & Automation department to help guide the future and success of data and automation initiatives. We are looking for a Director of Data & Automation who will take ownership of the department, enhance our robust data infrastructure, create a better experience for all teams across the agency—especially for marketing teams—and drive operational excellence.

We are looking for someone who is obsessed with their work, someone with fantastic discipline and true desire to deliver work past targets. We have scaled from 12 to 42 team members in just over a year— and as we continue to grow, your passion for working in a scrappy, yet organized growth firm is strong.

The north star of this role is to design and implement advanced solutions that strengthen our marketing reporting systems, driving the effectiveness of our overall marketing efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Ownership
  • Own the vision, direction, and day-to-day management of the Data & Automation department.
  • Have full ownership of all data and automation KPIs and key projects.
  • Collaborate with the founders and leadership team to set quarterly, half-year, and annual goals that align with business growth.
  • Drive the strategic roadmap for data, reporting, and automation, ensuring alignment with company objectives and priorities.
  • Lead by example: Perform hands-on coding and technical work as part of leading strategy execution when necessary.
Data Architecture and System Design
  • Architect, build, and maintain scalable data systems and automation pipelines, optimizing the use of BigQuery, LookerStudio, and API integrations.
  • Assess and immediately improve existing systems before implementing upgrades.
  • Develop reporting systems that enhance marketing strategies and improve performance across paid platforms.
  • Spearhead the design of an advanced project management system that enhances team efficiency, tracking, and visibility.
Automation and Operational Excellence
  • Lead automation initiatives across all departments to eliminate manual processes, streamline workflows, and boost efficiency.
  • Improve and enhance existing automations, including those for client/employee onboarding, Google Admin, and other internal processes.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, best practices, and manuals that ensure consistency in data handling, automation, and system reliability.
  • Ensure platforms are capable of handling complex data workflows and high-volume data processing, while guiding technical vision and strategy for scalability.
Stakeholder Engagement and Governance
  • Act as the primary expert and advisor for all data and automation-related matters, providing insights and direction to stakeholders.
  • Develop compliance frameworks and reporting standards to ensure data security, privacy, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and maintain visibility into all databases, files, and systems, providing comprehensive documentation for the founders and key team members.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • 6+ years of experience in data engineering, automation, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in API integrations, CRM systems, and data pipelines
  • Proficiency in platforms like Salesforce, LeadPerfection, and others.
  • 3+ years of experience with BigQuery, LookerStudio, and building/guiding advanced reporting systems.
  • Led a team of developers or engineers.
  • Led or co-led a major data/technology project at a company.
  • Proven track record of building and automating workflows in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment (agency experience preferred).
  • Strong familiarity with Scrum and other project management methodologies to drive team efficiency.
  • Preferred: experience in performance marketing in an agency environment.
