What we’re looking for…

AG Barr are looking for a Business Development Executive who will take full commercial responsibility for the Ocado account, managing the P&L and building a promotional and merchandising plan that will drive growth within the customer. On top of this, the BDE will play a key role in developing merchandising plans within our Pureplay customers by researching, building and optimising campaigns, including search, PPC, display, paid social, video and other key levers.

At the heart of this is ensuring that we deliver category-leading representation on our customer’s websites and continually stay abreast of how our customers are improving and upgrading their online strategy. This will ensure we continually outperform our online marketing and sales performance indicators and in turn, deliver a substantial increase in our market share online.

Your responsibilities will include…

As E-Commerce Business Development Executive your responsibilities will include;

  • Account management – the BDE will work within a specified area to achieve all agreed Key Performance Indicators (to include but not exhaustive – invoiced revenue, contribution, NPD, distribution, availability, visibility, new business opportunities and display, Demantra promotional loading and management).
  • Insight & Data – Responsible for developing and sharing insights on their business e.g. learnings that will assist colleagues in the development of their business plans. Use of IRI/Kantar/Category/Digital Shelf data to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of the marketplace.
  • Relationships – Responsible for developing strong personal relationships with key customers, from Buyers to Demand Managers, using these relationships to help deliver all plans and initiatives. Internal relationships and building a network of strong business contacts are equally as important.
  • Communication – Responsible for developing and agreeing with individual BDE’s BDM’s BUC’s & BUL, the necessary level of internal communication and process to be followed to ensure clear and concise business decisions are made between parties. Strong external communication skills required to ensure the customer is always clear on decisions that may impact their business.
  • Promotional activity – Working in conjunction with the HO account team, the BDE will be responsible for the creation, execution and compliance of customer promotional activity, delivering profitable growth for AG Barr, in line with business priorities. Must be able to analyse performance to ensure we are making the most of our investment.
  • Management of Work – Responsible for completing all required administration (internal & external) in line with agreed process, procedure & deadlines.

What you’ll bring…

The successful candidate will have;

  • Educated to a degree level (or equivalent experience) with E-commerce experience, preferably within FMCG.
  • Excellent IT skills (Google Suite, Excel, PowerPoint & Word). Able to learn new packages (Cognos, IRI/Kantar, Demantra).
  • High Level of Numeracy, good attention to detail and comfortable with handling large quantities of data.
  • Highly Organised.
  • Good communicator (especially remotely).
  • Organising & Executing – Able to set clearly defined objectives and monitor performance.
  • Interacting and presenting – Able to present with confidence and establish great working relationships with all levels of contact.
  • Inquisitive nature – A want to learn new things and constantly evolve in a market that is always moving.
  • Proactive – will to take charge and bring plans to life.
  • Initiative – able to take appropriate action before being asked and actively finds solutions to problems. Able to adopt a logical and methodical approach and can be relied upon not to give up and to see jobs through from start to finish.
