Description of the offer

While this is a remote position, the role is restricted to those physically located in Malta.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated information technology manager who will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring that IT systems and equipment are operating effectively, efficiently and securely.

You’ll be a hands-on technical leader balancing your time between managing your team, carefully and proactively project managing the various ongoing initiatives, and completing technical tasks as needed for the smooth operation of your team.

In your role, you’ll have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of our operations and a long-term impact on our overall growth, finding a healthy balance between driving innovation and continuous improvement, and ensuring your internal clients receive best-in-class support.

You are curious, innovative and entrepreneurial, you stay on top of tools, trends, technologies and best practices. You have a passion for IT systems, strategic thinking, technical depth, and leadership skills needed to play a crucial role in driving information technology for Raketech.

You are goal and result oriented, both on a large and small scale. You are prepared to meet deliverables, remaining on top of all daily project activities amongst all team members, assess changes and risk management, and do so while managing multiple internal stakeholders.

You embrace ambiguity and aren’t afraid of changing directions if something isn’t working out.

What does the role entail?

• Coordinating technology installations, upgrades, and maintenance.
• Monitoring daily operations, including server hardware, software, and operating systems.
• Testing, troubleshooting, and modifying information systems so that they operate effectively.
• Generating performance reports for operating systems.
• Managing IT staff by recruiting and training employees, communicating job expectations, and monitoring performance.
• Overseeing the annual IT budget and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
• Evaluating technology risks in order to develop a network disaster recovery plan and backup procedures.
• Assuring all IT activities are performed within the parameters of applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
• Selecting and purchasing new and replacement hardware and software, when necessary.
• Remaining up to date with advances in technology and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure and services.
• Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Management and leadership skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• Availability and flexibility around working hours.

Technical skills

• Experience with creating and maintaining Active Directory Domain Controllers
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Windows server/desktop technologies and Microsoft 365 Cloud
• Extensive experience with MacOS
• Experience with Linux servers
• Good understanding of IT infrastructure in Azure Cloud
• Strong drive towards automation
• Proficiency in PowerShell and Bash
