Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and autonomous Design Lead who will be accountable for overseeing and delivering designs related to our products, website UX/UI, while overseeing design work related to brand, graphic design and marketing collateral. This role will closely partner with Product, Marketing/Communications, and Community/Education teams, working closely with stakeholders across several geographies in both an advisory and delivery capacity. As a small team, we all expect everyone to be flexible, agile, and add value outside of their core role expectations.

The candidate should be equally comfortable designing in styles suitable to gaming, DeFi (decentralized finance), and SAAS products. The role requires a primary day-to-day focus in Product and UX design, with accountability and oversight for brand and graphic design. The candidate should be able to flexibly shift contexts between different types of design, and comfortably work within different brand identities while creating appropriate connections between them (e.g. our two properties ParagonsDAO.com and Priming.xyz).

The role is supported by a Junior Designer (whose primary strength is graphic design), and will be expected to delegate appropriate work to them, review, and provide coaching feedback. The role is also expected to seek out and manage temporary contractors, as needed, based on workload and skills required to deliver on stakeholder needs.

Key Responsibilities

• UX/UI design related to ParagonsDAO’s website and products (including new features of Priming.xyz, our upcoming player management system, a potentially revamping a Staking page to suit a new smart contract, optimizing treasury dashboard etc.).
• Working closely with front-end developers to implement UX/UI designs.
• Oversee, maintain, and influence the branding/visual identities of ParagonsDAO and related properties (including Priming.xyz)
• Oversee graphic design to support all marketing campaigns and collateral, ranging from product features, to tournaments, to GameFi solutions, to semi-annual reports, and more.
• Close partnership and collaboration with Product, Marketing/Communications, and Community/Education teams.
• Manage all design projects and tasks in our project management software for clear visibility on progress, status, priorities and workload
• Delegate to, and oversee all work completed by Junior Designer (and any future design resources), providing appropriate guidance and coaching where required.
• Identify, seek out, delegate to, and oversee all design-related work completed by temporary contractors.
• Own and optimize all design-focused processes (e.g. creative brief/design request process).
• Identify opportunities to improve status quo, and show strong initiative both within and outside areas of expertise.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience
• Proficient in Figma (including prototyping) and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Proficiency in UX and product design.
• Understanding of front-end developer needs and partnership, including design systems, component states, and custom interactions.
• Strong familiarity and ability to oversee resources related to branding and graphic design.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating a wide range of design skills.
• Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work with minimal oversight, and collaborate with a team.
• The ideal candidate:
  • Is a gamer.
  • Is a Web3 advocate.
  • Has a close personal connection with the game Parallel (the game which a majority of our efforts are currently focused on).
• Other “nice to have” skills include experience with delivering or overseeing:
  • Motion graphics.
  • Video editing.
  • Streaming setups.

Contract Details

This is a full-time, contractual position managed by Game Cove LLC, a US-based development company operating on behalf of ParagonsDAO.

Remuneration

Pay will be within the posted pay range, and will depend on the successful applicant’s skills and experience.

Compensation will be paid in USDC (a cryptocurrency pegged to the US dollar), with an option to receive a percentage in PDT (ParagonsDAO’s governance token). Role may be eligible for additional discretionary team-based incentives paid in PDT.
