Marc Nolan is looking for a CRO focused web designer to lead the design and conversion rate optimization of our Shopify based website. We’ll be launching a women’s collection soon which will greatly change the UX/UI of our site too which we need help with. You will be working closely with our Director of Marketing to learn our company, our current setup, and how we can improve.

The Work
As a web designer, you’ll be responsible for the ongoing weekly design updates to our website working with our director of marketing and developer.
Additionally, you will be responsible for the ongoing audit and optimization of our website through CRO testing, prioritizing high value pages (homepage, collection pages, product pages) to improve conversions.
Part of this CRO work will be ongoing landing page creation to improve our funnels from Social Ads > Landing Page > Conversion
- Weekly homepage updates
- Ongoing Landing Page Creation
- Weekly CRO / A/B Testing
- Working with our developer to implement custom design work
- Bi-weekly to monthly reporting of KPIs
- Management and recommendation of tech stack to use
- Troubleshooting tech issues
Initially, we could also use a “cleaning up” of our site to further refine our branding sitewide including updating fonts, fixing spacing issues, layouts, and putting more thought into neglected pages (i.e. FAQ page, Store Page, etc.).
As mentioned above, we’ll be launching women’s soon and will need help updating our navigation and flow of our website to now accommodate for a men’s line + women’s line.
About You
As a manager of one, you’ll drive shaped projects, big and small. You’ll set direction, take ownership, make calls, and see things through without a lot of oversight. You’ll be able to communicate clearly with your colleagues, work across teams, and lend a helping hand when needed.
You are a person that has years of experience designing websites with a focus on ecommerce. You take pride in making beautiful digital experiences while balancing conversion rate optimization.
You’ll be working with our developer to communicate your front end designs to get implemented.
You are familiar with CRO and A/B testing. You prioritize the bigger testing wins vs. optimizing for a button color.
Since we’re a remote company, the bulk of our work is written, whether in long form posts or short chats. We value good writers. We also value people who can take a stand yet commit when they disagree. We subject ideas to rigorous debate, but all remember that we’re here for the same purpose: to do good work together.
Requirements
- U.S. Based
- A comprehensive portfolio showcasing design proficiency and successful CRO projects.
- Demonstrated experience in Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO).
- Expertise in utilizing Figma for design tasks.
- Excellent both written and spoken English.
- Strong understanding of UX/UI principles.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator.
- We run on Shopify so experience using Shopify is a plus.

Benefits and compensation
The salary for this position is $90,000
This is a remote role and can work anywhere based in the United States. Our home base is in Chicago (CST Time Zone).
We are pro work/life balance and are flexible on hours as long as you get the work done.
We offer 20 paid days off + 11 federal holidays. Just give us enough heads up when you’ll be taking off.

We’re accepting applications until February 16th.
You should not expect to hear from us for about a week after while we review all applications.
For those we select, you can expect to have an 2-3 interviews with the CEO, Sebastian and Director of Marketing, Kevin. We’ll talk through your background, your approach to design, and dive into your professional knowledge.
After the interviews, the final candidates will be given an at-home design challenge. The exercise is representative of the kind of work we do, and it helps us understand how you’d approach new problems from scratch. We invite no more than 3 candidates to this stage, and those candidates should expect to spend about 2 work days completing the project. You’ll be compensated for your time.
We expect to extend an offer beginning of March, with a flexible start date.
