As the Marketing Manager for EWC, you will lead cross-media campaigns aimed at expanding our fan base, driving ticket sales, and increasing digital viewership for the Esports World Cup. In this role, you’ll develop and execute strategies to elevate brand awareness and foster positive consumer sentiment, while ensuring seamless coordination with internal teams such as Product, Communications, and Events. Additionally, you’ll build and maintain strategic relationships with players, influencers, partners, and other key stakeholders, effectively integrating marketing initiatives with brand storytelling and event productions across global teams. You will report directly to the VP of Consumer Marketing, Esports, Festival & Digital Platforms.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead Consumer Marketing Campaigns: Strategize and execute consumer marketing initiatives to engage both current and future audiences of the Esports World Cup.
  • End-to-End Campaign Management: Conceptualize, plan, execute, and analyze cross-media marketing campaigns aimed at enhancing brand awareness, driving event attendance, and boosting digital viewership of the Esports World Cup.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with global teams across various functions, including Marketing, Product, Operations, Communications, Sales, and more, to ensure seamless execution of marketing strategies.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Communicate and align marketing campaigns with key external stakeholders, such as clients, game publishers, and governmental bodies, to ensure cohesive messaging and collaboration.
  • Strategic Relationship Building: Develop and nurture strategic relationships with esports clubs’ marketing teams, partners, sponsors, agencies, and other contributors to amplify marketing efforts and drive success.
  • Integrate Marketing into Events: Seamlessly integrate marketing strategies and storytelling into event productions, broadcasts, partner activations, and festival experiences to create a cohesive and engaging brand narrative.

 

Operational Management:

  • Campaign Development: Campaign Development & Execution: Design, implement, and manage marketing campaigns to engage existing and future fans, ensuring alignment with overall goals.
  • Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with clients, agencies, and internal teams to refine strategies, execute campaigns, and integrate them into products.
  • Material & Resource Management: Create and manage marketing materials, oversee media planning, and ensure proper allocation of resources. Ensure a well-organized and accessible set of marketing materials is available and up to date.
  • Team & Vendor Oversight: Supervise working students, trainees, freelancers, and agencies, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Provide detailed reports on campaign performance, including metrics, customer feedback, and impact assessments.
  • Decision-Making Authority: Make key decisions on campaign structure, creative elements, and scope of work for teams and external partners.

Requirements

    • University Degree in Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, Media Design, Journalism, or equivalent experience in marketing, content agency, or promotion.
    • 5+ years of experience in marketing or agency work, with a proven track record in running integrated media campaigns and producing creative content.
    • Demonstrated experience collaborating with creative teams, content producers, media agencies, product management, and external stakeholders.
    • Experience engaging younger audiences in digital and event spaces, ideally within the context of esports, gaming, entertainment, or sports.

 

  • Specific Skills & Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of media consumption behavior and content marketing strategies.
    • Experience working with intercultural teams and diverse audiences.
    • Excellent English copywriting skills.
    • Foundational knowledge in designing and creating consumer-facing marketing collateral.
    • Proficiency in developing presentation materials and crafting comprehensive marketing plans.
    • Ability to plan, execute, and measure digital marketing campaigns, including content planning and performance analytics.
    • Solid understanding of consumer analytics and audience segmentation.
    • In-depth knowledge of esports content offerings across multiple game titles.
