Position Overview:
We are seeking a Part-Time Contract Mobile Designer to lead the visual design of our educational mobile apps that assess and help children learn to read. This role involves developing playful, compelling, and interactive learning experiences that cater to young, emerging readers, from pre-K to elementary school. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in children’s mobile app design and a strong interest in educational development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Visual Design, Interactive or Game Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Must have native iOS design experience – at least 7+ years in iOS UI/UX design and solid working familiarity with Apple HIG, SwiftUI, Metal and key IOS UI elements.
- Demonstrable experience in mobile visual/game design, with a strong portfolio featuring design projects, especially in educational or children’s gaming.
- 2D and 3D visual design tools experience with Unity experience a plus.
- Experience delivering production-ready mobile design assets, including image optimization, file format, sizing, and managing assets in Assets Catalogs in an XCode project.
- Immersive visual graphics or game design is a significant plus.
- Strong understanding of design principles as they relate to educational content and young learners.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
- A strong commitment to creating educational and fun experiences for children.

Contract Details:
This is a part-time, contract position. Hours and duration of the contract will be discussed with successful candidates.
Work may be conducted remotely, but candidates must be available to work within PST or EST time zones.
