Type of job: Remote

Company: Peeksta LTD
Description of the offer
We’re Peeksta, a UK-based software startup, founded by the e-commerce expert & YouTube content creator Kamil Sattar (aka The Ecom King. https://www.youtube.com/@THEECOMKING).
Our software is designed to make the lives of e-commerce entrepreneurs easier.
We are biased — but we are pretty sure we are a pretty cool company to work for.
And we really believe that – our company culture is all about failing often and getting back up quickly, and we empower every staff member to do this by equipping them with maximum flexibility and maximum responsibility.
We’re all about efficiency. We don’t have an office, we do away with all unnecessary formalities and we keep our team small. All our internal systems are tailored to ensure one single thing: that users get the most amazing software that we can possibly deliver every single day. No exceptions.
Due to our massive reach within our industry, we have a great responsibility to represent a golden standard for the industry in everything we do and we stand out from our competition, above all, because of our core values: honesty, integrity and to serve our users to the best of ability – the user always comes first. People know that they will be well taken care of when they choose us, and that’s something we wear with pride.
To deliver on this though, honestly, the job is not all roses and puppy dogs — there is some good news and there is some bad news.
Let’s get the bad news out of the way first:
– The job is intense. We work hard, we like to move fast and we strive to innovate every day. We create systems to make sure that everyone spends their hours effectively so we cut off all of the fluff and we keep meetings to a minimum.
– Deadlines are demanding and non-negotiable. Working with us will require a full-time commitment from you and all your best efforts. If you’re looking to grow as a professional though and you’re okay with the intensity, you’re in the right place.
Now let’s talk about the good stuff:
The pay increases gradually with your progression. It starts at £2500/month and will increase gradually as the company progresses. The best part is that we’re at an early startup stage, so there is immense potential for progression. If you’re looking for a 6-figure salary starting on day 1 though, this isn’t for you.
The work is fun, fresh, and dynamic. You will be working directly with our executives, assisting them in reworking the current software into a new Django/React architecture and implementing a lot of new features.
The hours are super flexible. We will work with your schedule to get a routine that works for you. The only fixed hours we will require of you will be the catch-up meetings, 2 to 3 times a week. All other communication will take place through Slack so you get to work on your own time.
Now, let’s talk about the job requirements:
1. You’ll need at least a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering (or similar/related) from a top 500 university (https://roundranking.com/ranking/world-university-rankings.html)
2. We expect intelligence, energy, and a get-it-done attitude. When you have questions, you will attempt to find the answers by yourself before you resort to anyone else.
3. You will need to follow each step of the application process carefully.
4. You must be familiar with Python, JavaScript, Django, React and PHP. You must be familiar with accessing web data and using APIs.
One thing that will give you a BIG leg up (but is optional) is to send a quick video along with your resume. In your video tell us why you think you’re perfect for this job and why you will rock this position. This is purely for us to get a sense of your personality and to understand if you’d be a good cultural fit. And if you decide not to send a video (that’s ok), please tell us why you chose not to send in a video. We can’t wait to meet you.
We value a detailed person, you must follow systems and processes. In fact, just to prove that you are detail-oriented and can follow procedures, when you fill in your application form, begin your answer to question 5 (brief description of your previous projects) with the line “I have found my type of company”. Yep, that’s our little trick to sort out the people who blanket send their resume to anyone and everyone, from the folks (that’s you) who are truly interested in this position.
How to apply:
1. Fill in the application form: https://kg37lqdmqb3.typeform.com/to/Tz3PBYQO
2. Finish the challenge and submit the deliverables in the application form.
3. We will contact you in 72 hours letting you know if you were selected for an interview (via Zoom).
4. The best candidate(s) will move on to a fully-paid probation period of 3 months with the top candidate getting hired for the full time position.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: From £2500 per month.
