Pragma is supporting healthy and vibrant online communities by creating a backend game engine— a platform of services and tools that enable game studios to launch live-service games.
You’ll be joining a passionate team that has scaled games such as League of Legends and Destiny 2 at studios like PopCap, Riot, Bungie, and EA. We have also scaled platforms at traditional tech companies including Google, Amazon, Unity, Microsoft, SendGrid and Tableau. We are grateful to partner with top-notch investors including Greylock, Upfront Ventures, & Insight Partners as well as angels such as the founders of Oculus, Twitch, and Zynga.
About the Role
This role will join one of our product teams that design and build backend solutions to power the player-facing features our studios need at massive scale. We empower teams to solve hard problems in ways that our customers love and work for our business. Product teams at Pragma are cross-functional and durable, typically composed of a product manager, technical writer, and several engineers. The product manager is accountable for ensuring a team’s solutions are both valuable (customers will choose to buy) and viable (works within the many constraints of the business).
This is an individual contributor role, reporting to the Director of Product, and involves influencing the direction of your team with research, evidence, and logic. We look for product managers that understand that consistent innovation is the result of each member of the product team contributing their passion and their ideas.
Responsibilities
Develop a deep knowledge of user needs by regularly interviewing game developers in our target market, understanding how customers are using our product today, and researching industry trends.
Collaborate closely with your team’s engineers to discover effective solutions, working backward from a clearly defined user need.
Find innovative ways to experiment and test solution ideas to get feedback early, iterating until your team is confident the end-result will be both valuable and easy to use.
Partner with your team’s technical writer to ensure solutions are thoroughly documented.
Ensure our Customer Success team is equipped to advise studios how to effectively use your team’s solutions to power their game features.
Partner with our CEO, Director of Sales, and Product Marketer to understand business needs and contribute relevant context to your team.
