Whip Around was born in 2016, originally to help freight companies in New Zealand tackle their paper-based compliance burden. It was whilst working for some of the globe’s largest freight companies, that co-founder James saw first-hand how much time paper was costing fleet managers every day. Within a year, the US market was calling loudly and the founders Tim and James were spending more time on planes and traversing the American market than anywhere else. Whip Around now has offices in Auckland, New Zealand, and Charlotte, North Carolina, servicing our customers from coast to coast in the US and around the world.

Great products need great people. We are seeking a proactive and experienced Product Marketing Manager to join our dynamic marketing team. The Product Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing plans, managing product launches, conducting market research, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive product sales and growth. This role requires a strong understanding of market dynamics, consumer behavior, and a passion for continuously improving the market positioning of our products.

What success will look like:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans to drive product adoption, market penetration, and revenue growth.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify market trends, opportunities, and consumer demands.
  • Collaborate with product development and sales teams to define product positioning, messaging, and unique selling propositions.
  • Create and maintain a deep understanding of the target market segments, buyer personas, and customer journeys.
  • Develop and implement effective product launch strategies, ensuring optimal product messaging, pricing, and promotional activities.
  • Generate compelling marketing content, including product collateral, sales presentations, case studies, and website content.
  • Collaborate with the creative and design team to develop visually appealing marketing materials that support product marketing campaigns.
  • Measure and analyze key performance metrics to monitor the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and recommend improvements

What you’ll bring to the role:

Critical Competencies:

  • 5-10+ years of experience in product, marketing or an adjacent department
  • Proven track record of success in implementing and conducting GTM processes
  • Deep understanding of product development methodology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced environment
  • Natural curiosity in all things business
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Industry experience (direct or adjacent) is a plus
