Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist (Remote)

Broadlume is on a mission to transform the Flooring industry through integrated technology. We are looking for a skilled Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Finance and Accounting Team. For this role, you will review account information, correct discrepancies, ensure that accounts are properly billed and that payments are collected on time. The Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist will help ensure accuracy and efficiency of operations, processing and monitoring of incoming payments, and securing revenue by verifying and posting receipts. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, inquisitive, highly organized, detail-oriented and possess excellent communication skills.

This is a full time, remote position and reports to the Controller. There are no direct reports at this time. This is a highly visible, client-facing role with an opportunity to optimize and structure the Accounts Receivable and Collections functions for maximum effectiveness. This is a salaried position with potential for incentive pay based on performance.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Prepare and ensure accuracy and completeness of monthly recurring invoices and timely issuance of installation, distribution and service invoices
• Process incoming payments and maintain accurate customer account records, and reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted
• Maintain and update customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing instructions
• Lead collections process for all Accounts Receivable by developing strong relationships with clients, resolving client issues, conducting thorough research, collaborating with Sales, Account Management and Onboarding departments, and providing regular reporting to management regarding accounts receivable status and collections efforts
• Propose process improvements, train other departments in best practices, evaluate automation solutions and streamline communication to create a best-in-class function
• Assist Accounting Department in reconciling revenue accounts each month
• Advise on Allowance for Doubtful Accounts and bad debt write-offs
• Perform other related duties as assigned

WHO YOU ARE

• 7+ years of proven working experience in Accounts Receivable and Collections
• BS or Associate’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Sage Intacct, Stripe and Salesforce
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations
• Proven ability to accurately calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
• Customer service orientation with ability to communicate accurately and effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently, identify issues and escalate them appropriately
• Time management, prioritization, problem solving and negotiation skills
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
