Position: Senior Visual Designer for World-Renowned Museum Project Proposal
Engagement: This is a contract position.
Hourly Rate: $120 / per hour
Hours: 10 hours for a rough concept.

Currently, we are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Visual Designer to join our team on a contract basis. This position offers the potential for continued collaboration upon successful award.

Position Overview:
As a Senior Visual Designer, you will play a key role in the development of design concepts for an exciting museum project proposal. Your expertise in visual design and your ability to translate creative ideas into compelling visual representations will be instrumental in shaping the overall vision and identity of the proposed museum project. Working closely with our Creative Director and interdisciplinary team, you will contribute to the creation of a cohesive and immersive design narrative that aligns with the project’s goals and objectives.

Note: This position is a contract role, with the potential for continued collaboration upon successful award of the museum project proposal.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Creative Director and cross-functional team members to develop innovative and visually stunning design concepts for the museum project proposal.
• Conduct research and gather inspiration to inform the design process, ensuring the proposed concepts are fresh, engaging, and aligned with industry trends and best practices.
• Create high-quality visual assets, including mood boards, storyboards, concept sketches, and digital mockups, to effectively communicate design ideas and convey the proposed experience to museum stakeholders.
• Ensure consistency and coherence across all visual elements, maintaining a strong visual identity throughout the proposed museum experience.
• Craft and execute designs across various mediums, including web, mobile, and print, always focused on conveying information and making it easy for people to understand.
• Collaborate with external partners, such as developers, to integrate visual design concepts seamlessly into the overall project plan.
• Present design concepts to clients and stakeholders, effectively articulating the creative vision and rationale behind each concept, while incorporating feedback and iterating on designs as necessary.
• Work collaboratively with design researchers to define and execute on user-focused designs.
• Create outstanding design concepts, layouts, and final deliverables in collaboration with the team.

• 5-7 years of experience in Visual Design.
• Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of visually compelling design projects, with a particular emphasis on web, interactive and immersive experiences.
• Knowledgeable of the design methodologies and techniques utilized in creating successful web, mobile, and print products.
• Excellent understanding of design principles, including composition, color theory, typography, and visual hierarchy.
• Solid knowledge of current design trends, emerging technologies, and industry standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, incorporating feedback from multiple stakeholders.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate design concepts and rationale to both internal and external audiences.
• Exceptional proficiency with Figma and other prototyping tools.
• Interest in history, art and culture together with engagement in current design strategies.
• Proactive approach to task management.
