About SchemeServe

SchemeServe is insurance software like no other.

Hosted in the cloud for MGAs, brokers and insurers, the SchemeServe platform boasts unique flexibility, unstoppable innovation and truly Obsessive Support.

Started in 2000 by our CEO, Adam, SchemeServe has grown from strength to strength, never having taken outside investment. We are proud of how far we’ve come, and how loyal we’ve stayed to our Core Values.

We are a fully remote company (even before the pandemic!), however, we do meet twice a year for a Team Retreat (one in March, one in September). These are used as a time to share ideas, relax and get to know each other better.

We absolutely prize self-development and encourage staff to continue learning, and set new challenges for themselves. Free books? Mentoring? Professional Development? You got it.

We also offer flexible working, paid days to do charity work, a warm and friendly working environment and fantastic, relaxed and open company culture.

We genuinely believe this is the best place you could ever work!

If you’re excited, good! So are we.

We’d love to hear from you if you’re;

  • a curious person who thrives on challenge;
  • self-motivated and thorough;
  • daring and happy to go against the grain.

Come and join the insurtech revolution!

Job Description

Looking for an opportunity to make a powerful impact with UX design?

We’re looking for someone who can show us an outstanding creative mindset, and a cracking portfolio of work. It’s no problem if you’re straight out of uni, we’d rather get someone with the right attitude, than someone with a CV as long as their arm.

Our UX/UI Designer will work under our Chief Technology Officer and Senior UX Designer and liaise with our Marketing Team. We need a people person who’s a brilliant communicator, as well as someone who can use their design initiative to run with projects (rather than await step-by-step instructions!).

Ideally, you would have a good amount of experience using Figma (what we currently use) however, Sketch and Adobe XD are also useful.

Responsibilities;

  • Plan and conduct user research and competitor analysis
  • Interpret data and qualitative feedback
  • Design amazing UX led interfaces
  • Create and present prototypes to internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with the engineering team and key stakeholders to help ensure the full vision for each design is realised
  • Be a generally awesome person!

Requirements;

  • UK based.
  • A positive yes we can attitude
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivate or as part of a team
  • A strong eye for design and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in relevant design software, preferably Figma (though Adobe XD or Sketch are also useful)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A comprehensive portfolio that you can submit with your application.

Nice to haves;

  • Degree or similar in a related field, Digital Media etc.
  • Experience of working in fast-paced environments to strict deadlines.
  • Any experience working in a SaaS, financial or insurance company is always a plus

Note for recruiters;

We are not currently accepting applications from recruitment companies that we already have a working relationship with. You are welcome to send an email if you really want, but it will be ignored. 🙂
